Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for company-wide training, including development of general orientation programs, employee training, leadership development, and specialized job specific curriculum in partnership with content experts.



  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training.


  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.


  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Able to multi-task and meet reporting deadlines and other established timelines.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Able to research, gather data, communicate findings and suggest improvements.
  • Able to collaborate with team members and leaders.

Technology Skills

  • Able to learn new technology to improve training programs.
  • Competent in use company Intranet and all company software programs.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products (Work, Excel, Outlook), proficient in operating office equipment.

Mathematical Skills

  • Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical computations.

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk and hear. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading, as well as driving or riding in transport vehicles. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, driving, computer, and color vision. Talking, listening and hearing are essential to communicate with patients, vendors and staff.

  • Design, develop, and deliver high quality cutting-edge learning programs with minimal supervision.
  • Utilize adult learning principles and select methodology specific to content delivery and target audience.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with PowerPoint and/or other training delivery applications
  • Utilize multimedia technology and e-learning development tools.
  • Collaborate in the development, coordination, and facilitation of orientation; revise and improve as needed.
  • Support continuous learning by staying relevant in educational trends, market research, and healthcare regulation standards; integrate findings into training while supporting the company's Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Demonstrates a self-directed and disciplined approach, completing tasks in a timely manner meeting deadlines as requested.
  • Takes initiative to present ideas, suggestions, and recommendations to management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of Palmetto Infusion.


  • Complies with all applicable company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information (PHI).
  • Ensures work meets quality standards and demonstrates reliability and follow-through on all assigned tasks.
  • Participates in the Performance Improvement Program by providing audit results timely.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the primary functions of this job. Normal office conditions exist, and the noise level in the work environment can vary from low to moderate. Limited overnight travel may be required from time to time.
